Digital radiography

Digital radiography explained, and the Perlove mobile (PLX5100) and vehicle-mounted (PLD3800) DR systems Technoray supplies in Pakistan with service.

What digital radiography is

Digital radiography uses a digital detector in place of X-ray film. The exposure is converted into an image on screen within seconds, which the radiographer can check, adjust and send to a workstation or PACS archive without a film-processing step.

Working from a digital image speeds up the imaging workflow, makes results easier to share and store, and generally reduces repeat exposures caused by mishandled or poorly processed film.

Where it is used

  • Hospital radiology departments for routine and on-demand X-ray imaging.
  • Bedside imaging in wards, ICU and the operating theatre, where a mobile unit is brought to the patient.
  • Field and screening programmes using vehicle-mounted DR that travels to the site.
  • Community outreach camps and mobile health drives that need imaging away from a fixed facility.

Equipment we supply

Technoray supplies digital radiography systems built by Perlove (Nanjing Perlove Medical), configured for hospital, field and screening use:

  • Perlove PLX5100, mobile digital radiography for ward, ICU and theatre imaging.
  • Perlove PLD3800, vehicle-mounted digital radiography for field and screening use.

Who it is for

These systems suit hospital radiology departments, diagnostic centres, and screening and outreach programmes that need imaging on the move. Biomedical and procurement teams can use this guide to compare a mobile unit against a vehicle-mounted system and match the configuration to where the imaging will take place.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between mobile and vehicle-mounted DR?

A mobile DR system, such as the Perlove PLX5100, is a wheeled unit moved within a facility to image patients at the bedside in wards, ICU and theatre. A vehicle-mounted DR system, such as the Perlove PLD3800, is built into a vehicle so the imaging system can travel to field sites and screening locations.

Can you support a screening or outreach programme?

Yes. Vehicle-mounted DR is designed for field and screening use, and we supply, install, train and service the system so it can run at outreach camps and mobile health drives. Tender support is available for programme procurement.

Do you install, train and service the system?

Yes. Technoray handles installation and commissioning, trains radiographers and biomedical staff, and provides ongoing service and maintenance, including annual maintenance contracts and spare parts supply.

Specifications and configuration are confirmed per quotation for the exact model supplied.
